In terms of weather and comfort, this shoot was probably one of the most miserable and toughest sessions I have done. It was 33 degrees, in the snow off in the woods and raining. About as nasty as it gets. But, because Christiane and James were so up for shooting in this weather they were rewarded with great photos. The atmosphere created in these conditions looks fantastic in photos.
This session was up in the back woods in Roscoe in late winter. We shot late in the afternoon on a very dreary day. I used a small softbox for most of the shots and a second bare strobe for the background light in a few others. I loved the look of the wide angle images with them in the center of the forest. Almost looks like a movie poster.
We went to a second location to use a umbrella I brought for the shoot as well. I hid a flash behind them aimed up into the umbrella.
Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.
