These portraits were part of an advertising campaign project I shot for the Wallkill River School of Art in Montgomery. The idea was inspired by a project called Art and Soul by photographer Brian Smith. The idea here was to capture a real candid portrait of one of the artists or patrons at the school and in their own handwriting tell why the Wallkill River School was important to them. I was thrilled at how well the artists did and the simple one softbox lighting on a black background. I hope the portraits show the true personality behind each artist. Thank you to the Wallkill River School and Shawn Dell Joyce for the collaboration in creating this project.
