This was another fantastic non-traditional location for a wedding! Jackie and Joe decided to have their wedding in the Delaware Water Gap at the Tillman Ravine in New Jersey. We shot photos first at Buttermilk Falls, which was a very bumpy 2 mile drive down a dirt road. I think I looked a little out of place wearing all black and a tie around all the hikers. We shot portraits in from of the falls. I used a single strobe and was able to get a few with the sunlight beaming through the leaves. Then did a couple long exposure portraits to get the waterfall silky smooth. Jackie and Joe did a nice job remaining frozen for the portrait.
Then we drove over to the Tillman Ravine trail head parking area. It was a short hike down into the ravine. Joe and his friends helped carry his grandmother in her wheelchair through the forest into the ravine. They had a beautiful quite spot in the forest along a steam and small waterfall. Their love of hiking and the outdoors brought them to have their ceremony there. I was in awe of the overall setting for a wedding.
I hope to get more weddings that involve hiking in the future!
