I traveled up to Albany recently for Sarah and Edward’s engagement session at John Boyd Thacher State Park. It was a cold but beautiful evening. We had the sun setting just at the right time and even had a small rainbow appear for a while. After shooting near the cliff we were headed to the waterfall. However the road was closed and we had to travel 25 minutes around on a detour to get to the other side. We arrived at dark and couldn’t shoot at the falls. However, I decided we could get a few portraits in the dark between 2 large trees at the edge of the parking lot. I wanted to make it look like a night shot in the middle of the woods.
