Last week (June 19) The record ran a story about the increase risk of Lyme disease in the Hudson Valley this year. They needed a photo illustrating the tick’s eye view of a child’s foot in grass. I happened to have not mowed my lawn and having several children I had many sized feet to choose from. I took my oldest daughter out front at about noon. Setup one strobe in an umbrella camera left at full power and one bare strobe back behind her leg off camera right. Since the sun was so bright I needed shade in order to overpower the sunlight and create a sculpted look with my light. I had my daughter hold a reflector above her head to create enough shadow so my lights could do their job. Below you can see the cover, the original cover shot, an alternate horizontal shot and a horizontal shot to give you an idea of how flat the light was without my lights in the setup.
