The annual Women of Achievement edition is coming out in a couple weeks. I finished shooting all 6 portraits a couple weeks ago. Here are the 2014, 2015 and 2016 portraits. Every year I am challenged to come up with a new style of portrait for the magazine. Below are test portraits for the main portrait. I went with a angled profile portrait with short lighting (with light coming from behind the subject hitting the side of the face away from the camera. I used a grid on an Einstein light with large Paul C. Buff lightbox as the key light and a small grided strip box camera right for fill behind the subjects.
I have a couple test shots below along with a self portrait. I really wanted to go for a contemplative look for the portraits and I hope that’s what I achieved when readers see the magazine.
