For the latest edition of Orange Magazine one of my assignments was to photograph 4 of Orange County’s Rising Stars. For this shoot I met Jasmin Guitierrez, who is a Technical Sergeant in the NY Air National Guard at the base at Stewart Airport. I wanted to get Jasmin in front of something iconic that screamed Stewart Airport. I was hoping for a shot in front of one of the C130s but that didn’t work out.
So I settled for a plane in display at the base. We shot late in the day and I used a single bare strobe to highlight Jasmin in the underexposed photo. Some of the shot we changed angle and put the sun in the background creating a much more dramatic look to the photo.
