I produced 2 video packages for the Times Herald-Record this past December. One was report on the famous Eggbert and the other was on local light displays. I did not shoot the footage for these reports but did edit the video together. My good friend Jim Sabastian shot the Eggbert story (and did a fantastic job too, thanks Jim!) and the other was shot by various people including some by photographer Kelly Marsh (thanks Kelly!). I did the voiceover as well.
Cracking the mysteries of Eggbert: There’s a peculiar holiday tradition here in the Hudson Valley. It involves an abnormally large egg that smiles, talks, wears a crown, sits on a throne. Of course, it’s Eggbert, beloved by generations of kids. Eggbert is in residence at in New Windsor, where he has the starring role in the holiday pageantry.
Your Guide to Christmas Light Displays in the Hudson Valley: The mid-Hudson is glowing in Christmas lights and diplays this season. We’ve collected a few of our favorites from around the region here in this video and in no particular order here are several that we think you should go visit this December.
