I photographed the High School basketball all-stars for Varsity 845 this year again. You can see my portraits from 2018, 2017 and 2016 as well. This year I decided to go back to the long exposure mixed lighting action portraits I did back in 2016. This method creates a ghosting effect on the player as they move through the scene and freezes them at the last second. You can watch a video and read my blog post on how I was able to create this look.
The sports editor also requested I shoot the regular portraits like I did last year. So I needed to come up with 2 lighting setups in the same space to allow for both without changing or moving lighting. Check out the setup shot and final action portraits photos
